The event took place on August 31st, 2024, at the Community Resource Centre in Chesterfield, specifically at the charming venue on Whiteleas Avenue. It was a night filled with joy, laughter, and, of course, the rich flavour of our homemade African cuisine.

The atmosphere was electric as guests gathered to celebrate this special milestone in Dr. Ayebusi's life. From the moment the doors opened, the air was filled with the tantalizing aroma of our expertly prepared dishes, setting the stage for what was to be an unforgettable evening.

We kicked off the celebration with a delightful array of starters that were a hit with everyone. Our small chops selection featured the crispy goodness of samosas, the sweet and fluffy delight of puff-puff, the savoury richness of meat-pies, and other bite-sized delicacies. These appetizers were the perfect introduction to the feast that awaited the guests.

As the evening progressed, it was time for the main courses, and we knew we had to deliver nothing short of excellence. Our buffet featured an extensive spread that showcased the diversity and vibrancy of African cuisine. The star of the show was our Jollof rice, cooked to perfection with just the right amount of spice, and paired beautifully with our flavourful fried rice. The richness of our efo-riro, a spinach-based stew, provided a hearty complement to the dishes, while the gizz-dodo a delectable mix of gizzard and plantains—added a unique touch to the meal.

For the protein lovers, we offered a variety of options, including grilled and fried chicken, each marinated to perfection with a blend of spices that kept guests coming back for more. The pepper soup, served with agidi, provided a warm and comforting dish that many couldn’t resist.

The highlight of the evening, however, was the feedback from Dr. Ayebusi herself. She was delighted with the entire experience, praising Vanny's Delight for bringing not just food, but flavour and joy to her birthday celebration. She noted that her guests were thoroughly satisfied, with many complimenting the authenticity and taste of the dishes.
